AME
Alfred Martinez is a civil engineer with nearly four decades of experience in heavy construction and public infrastructure. Since 2018, AME has supported government agencies and their private-sector partners with design, construction management, and project controls, including work for Humboldt County, the Port of San Francisco, Caltrans, SFDPW, and MTC. As a small consultancy, AME combines Alfred’s engineering and field experience with access to a deep network of Caltrans-trained engineers.
Alfred Martinez
Alfred Martinez started his career as a building inspector and general contractor. In 1985, he joined Caltrans as a junior engineer and bridge inspector before being promoted to Senior Engineer. Over the course of his career, he oversaw construction of the Bay Bridge Toll Plaza, the Carquinez Bridge, and [third major project].
Throughout his career, Alfred was an active member of Professional Engineers in California Government (PECG), serving as a Section President and Section Director from 1992 to 2017. He is also an active member of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE). In 2005, he received [name of award] from San Francisco State University in recognition of his and his SHPE colleagues’ efforts to help keep the university’s engineering department open.
Alfred has deep roots in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he has spent his career, raised two sons, and continues to live with his wife, Elaine, and their dog, Leni.
